Shoscombe village is a popular place to live and work. As a school we like to be involved in local projects and initiatives.
Every September the school supports Shoscombe Village Day. In 2018 every child in the school drew a self-portrait in the style of a famous artist which was displayed for the whole village to see.
At harvest time we invite parents and villagers to enjoy our harvest singing whilst tasting soup, bread and puddings that are baked by the children.
At Christmas time the school hosts Shoscombe Christmas Fayre. This busy event brings together the Village Hall committee, the Church Committee and the school alongside local trades people selling their wares. This popular event brings the whole community together and helps set the Christmas spirit!
At Easter time the school organise Easter Bonnet parades and hold the annual ‘Egg Rolling’ Egg-travaganza to which local villagers are invited to watch and also to judge. We also take advantage of our beautiful village with a school walk to Stoney Little long barrow for our Easter Egg Hunt.
In the summer, FoSSA organise a large summer fayre to which the whole village is invited. This is always a popular event which helps raise funds for the school.
In addition to this our children reach out to our village community through sharing assemblies such as our World War Two Shin-dig, and carol singing. Our Choir sing at Foxcote Church at key times in the year too. The school supports the annual Shoscombe Village Litter Picking event and contributes regularly to the Shoscombe Newsletter.
If you live and work in the village and would like to make further links with the school please contact the school office.
