School Dog

School Dog

We have two 'school dogs in training' at Shoscombe: Bonnie and Truffle!

Bonnie is a Labrador and Cocker-Spaniel cross (a “Cockerdor”). She is chocolate brown and is in her first year of training as a school dog.

She lives with Mrs Noall and her family, coming to school a few mornings or afternoons a week. Bonnie has a calm but fun-loving temperament and really enjoys meeting and greeting children. She loves a fuss but also loves to run after her own ball at playtime.

Truffle is a black Labrador. She is also in her first year of training as a school dog. Truffle lives with Mrs Rorison and her family, coming to school several days a week. Truffle really enjoys helping with gate duty in the morning and going for walks with the older children at lunchtime.

Mrs Noall and Mrs Rorison are working with the charity Dogs for Health to help train the  school dogs. All children must have consent to interact with Bonnie and Truffle and our School Dog Risk Assessment is available on our policies page.
